3 reasons to juice

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:17 pm

There are three main reasons why you will want to consider incorporating vegetable juicing into your optimal health program:

Juicing helps you absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables. This is important because most of us have impaired digestion as a result of making less-than-optimal food choices over many years. This limits your body’s ability to absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables. Juicing will help to “pre-digest” them for you, so you will receive most of the nutrition, rather than having it go down the toilet.

Juicing allows you to consume an optimal amount of vegetables in an efficient manner. If you are a carb type, you should eat one pound of raw vegetables per 50 pounds of body weight per day. Some people may find eating that many vegetables difficult, but it can be easily accomplished with a quick glass of vegetable juice.

You can add a wider variety of vegetables in your diet. Many people eat the same vegetable salads every day. This violates the principle of regular food rotation and increases your chance of developing an allergy to a certain food. But with juicing, you can juice a wide variety of vegetables that you may not normally enjoy eating whole.

If you are new to juicing, I recommend a mid-priced juicer. The cheap centrifugal juicers (like the Juiceman) break easily, produce low quality juice, and are very loud, which may contribute to hearing loss.

Many people initially think that juicing will be a real chore, but the majority are pleasantly surprised to find that it is much easier than they thought it would be.

This is partly because you should only start by juicing vegetables that you enjoy eating non-juiced. The juice should taste pleasant — not make you feel nauseous.

It is very important to listen to your body when juicing. Your stomach should feel good all morning long. If it is churning or growling or generally making its presence known, you probably juiced something you should not be eating.

Eat Your Way To A Better Face

From the man who brought you cosmeceuticals and super foods comes a way to eliminate face puffiness, increase contours, firm your jaw line, and exude a naturally healthy glow. As it turns out, it’s what you put in your body, not what you have surgically put on or sloughed off, that counts. Dr. Nicolas Perricone’s Nutritional Facelift challenges you to comply with a prescribed menu of meals for three days to see significant changes to the appearance of your face. You also might experience side effects in the way of positive changes to your waistline and your general headspace as well. We’ve done our part by printing the diet in full here. Sticking to it is all you.

Breakfast

Three-egg omelet and/or 4-6 oz. grilled salmon (Perricone does not recommend smoked salmon or lox on the three-day diet because of the salt intake)

1?2 cup cooked oatmeal (not instant; cooked oatmeal is a great source of fiber and low glycemic carbohydrates)

2-inch wedge of cantaloupe or 1/3 cup fresh berries (cantaloupe is very hydrating to the skin and contains important antioxidants; blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries are also high in antioxidants)

No juice, coffee, or toast (if you normally drink large amounts of coffee, drink black or green tea to prevent caffeine withdrawal)

8-12 oz. spring water

Lunch

4-6 oz. grilled salmon (option: you can also use canned salmon and mix in a little mayo and fresh-squeezed lemon)

2 cups green salad made with romaine lettuce or other dark leafy greens

Dressing: extra virgin olive oil and fresh-squeezed lemon to taste

1 kiwi fruit or cantaloupe and berries

8-12 oz. spring water

Snack

1 apple

2 oz. slice of turkey breast or 6 oz. plain yogurt

Small handful of hazelnuts, walnuts, or almonds (these are a great source of fatty acids
and folic acid)

Dinner

4-6 oz. grilled salmon

Green salad, as described above

1?2 cup steamed veggies (especially asparagus, broccoli, spinach, etc. No root vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots, beets, parsnips, etc.)

Cantaloupe and berries

8-12 oz. spring water

Before-Bedtime Snack

1 pear or apple

2 oz. slice chicken or turkey breast or 6 oz. plain yogurt

Small handful of hazelnuts, walnuts, or almonds

Detoxing for your health

Some times going through a detox can be very intense and also have to make a time commitment to a program.  I have done a few.  One is Dr. Natura and that can be a 1-3 month time commitment where you take in the morning some herbal pills and a full glass of his recommended fiber to take.   Then at night there is a laxative tea then more pills.  Drinking plenty of water through out the day and eating a regular diet.  (usually that is when I try to eat allot better knowing that I am cleansing)  that was on thing I loved about it was that I could still eat what I wanted.

The results for me were great!  My stomach was much flatter and I had at least 3 bowel movements a day (sorry to be so detailed on that).  My energy level was great!  And all together I was feeling good about my self.

“The master cleanser” was another one and was very intense to do.  I had to really plan that one out carefully.  For me, I needed to make sure that I committed to 1 week at least to be home where I can go to the bathroom because of frequent urination. (about every 15 min.)  and that I had to ease my intake of food out and when I was ready to introduce my body back to food I had to ease back into that one as well.  So probably all in all about a 2 week commitment.  Another term for that was the Lemonade fast.  Also drinking plenty of water.

One thing you need to becareful of is the way people will detox.  every one detoxes in different ways.  Mine happen to be very hard pressure headaches for the first few days then eventually they subside.  I thought when I went on that 1 week fast I was going to have a hard time wanting to eat, however It turned out fine.  As long as I sipped the juice and kept drinking the water I had no cravings.  You can find the yellow easy read book in any book store or even in  Whole foods.

Another detox that I did for a 1 month commitment which was very invasive was a Herbal detox with Colonic.  It was very difficult however I got very good results from that as well.  lost a lot of weight and a very flat stomach too.  Lots of pills to take with and what ever my nutritionist had given me on the instruction was sometimes hard to keep a track on.  He is located in Sherman Oaks and his name  is Avtar and the # is 818-907-7542.

There is one that I am on now and is non invasive and very easy to do.  Just add some drops in your drinking water and will help you to detox and at the same time will help:

  • It contains phytosaponins - a natural detergent or soap derived from desert plants - ‘yucca schidigera’
  • It helps break up congestion in the intestinal tract and dissolves body wastes and toxins
  • It helps emulsify tissue wastes and brings them into circulation for the liver to dispose
  • It helps de-fat the liver and rejuvenates the colon
  • It is hostile to the parasite and pathogenic (disease causing) bacteria and viruses that flourish in the gut.

Here is the D Tox link that you can order from.  This product is some thing that I now intend to use as  a new life style with my diet.  I will write back in the future for the results that I am getting from this.

Best Regards,

Report from John Hopkins

JOHN HOPKINS - The latest findings on Cancer
Excellent info!

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY AND ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHN HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY .

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2 Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person’s lifetime.

3. When the person’s immune system is strong, the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells but it also destroys rapidly growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs, etc.

7. Radiation, while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation, the immune system is either compromised or destroyed.. Then the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult or impossible to destroy. Surgery can cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

A
.Sugar. By cutting off sugar, you cut off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful, etc. Are made with Aspartame, and that is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses, but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg’s aminos or sea salt.

B. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastrointestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk, cancer cells are being starved.

C.. Acid. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic; it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken, rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones, and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

D. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts, and a little fruit, helps put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells, drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F. (40 degrees C.).

E. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Drink purified water or filtered water to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, so avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remains in the intestines and becomes putrefied, leading to more toxic build-up.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from meat, or eating less meat, more enzymes are available to attack the protein walls of cancer cells, allowing the body’s killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body’s own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body’s normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted or unneeded cells..

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, resentment, and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Try to relax and enjoy life, even if you’ve been victimized by cancer.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercise daily, and do some deep breathing, which helps to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.
This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life.
